· Native tree to our western states but grows well in northern Michigan
· In ideal conditions, can grow to 300’ tall
· Not suitable to plant in landscapes – but a spectacular tree to enjoy on your property by your grandchildren! Douglas Fir is a true specimen tree you can be proud of.
· In smaller forms, often harvested for Christmas trees – soft fragrant needles
· Plant it in full sun, acidic to neutral, moist, well-drained, organically rich soil. Keep it well watered since it is intolerant to drought
