· NATIVE fruit tree with a long history of feeding early Americans
· Not only is the fruit valuable, the wood is treasured by woodworkers
· Great fruit producer since the tree sets buds well after chance of spring frost
· Fruit is harvested very late – generally after the first frost. This softens the fruit and sweetens the fruit
· Requires full sun planted in well-draining soil
· 16’ H x 12’ W
· Prune to form branching to support fruit; two trees required for cross pollination - male and female
