Wild Juniper Nursery is local to Northwest Lower Michigan located in Traverse City, Michigan.  We specialize in perennials, shrubs and ornamental trees offered at reasonable prices.  We propagate, start from seed, and grow plants without a greenhouse.  These unique methods makes our plants hardy and ready for success in your landscape.

​Tired of selecting plants from a 1/2" plant stick?  All of our plants have large pictures and information cards to assist and we LOVE to talk plants.  We are a working nursery, so you can experience growing at all stages.  When you stop by, our hands will be covered in dirt from sticking cuttings, potting up plants or moving a wheelbarrow of compost.  Many of the plants are in our own landscape.  Where else can you see them growing in the ground?

Our nursery is at our home!  We sell by appointment all season long.  Just contact us and we'd be happy to show you our plants.  We sell at the Sara Hardy Farmer's Market in early spring.  We also have 3 or 4 large sales throughout the season at sights near by.  Follow us here or on Facebook for pop-up sale locations and dates.

Chief Plant Guy!
Hi, I'm Tom Jessmore.  I started growing plants for fun and fell in love with it.  Now, my wife Terri and I grow over 250 varieties of perennials, shrubs, and ornamental trees.  Most of our plants come in trade gallon containers and sell for $5.97.  We also carry some specialty plants like Japanese Maples and some Proven Winner varieties for a little more.  I start thousands of plants each year from cuttings and from seed.  This process takes several years for the plants to develop and requires constant attention.  My plants remain outside all winter!  No greenhouse.  This makes them ready for our northern Michigan winters.  Contact me.  I love to meet plant people and always glad to help you select the right plants for your landscape!
